The farmhouse where lived Modesto Lodali, a hazelnut farmer, stock breeder, and small wine producer, was built in 1915 . He owned approximately 45 calves and produced homemade wine for his friends and a few families in the area.
After Uncle Modesto passed away, in 1997 the farmhouse, which by that time had been abandoned for many years, was inherited by Valter. He and his mother, Rita, started renovations and completed the work in 2001. They had the brilliant idea of opening a trattoria with a few rooms in this perfect location, called IL VIGNETO, which means “vineyard” in Italian. This very appropriate name was chosen because the trattoria is located at the top of Ravinali Hill surrounded by dolcetto, barbera, and nebbiolo vineyards.

In the meantime Valter Lodali has focused his efforts on wine production (www.lodali.it), making great strides in the past few years to achieve an exceptional level of quality that is highly appreciated both in local markets and around the world.
